   The juries assess submitted works.

2. 19/20 September 2025

   The two shortlists will be announced.

3. 17 October 2025

   The first Ilse Schwepcke Prizes are awarded at the Frankfurt Book Fair (5.30pm, Reading Island for Independent Publishers, Hall 3.1 C105).

4. 1 January 2026 (Ilse's birthday)

   Submissions open for books published between 1 April 2025 and 31 March 2026.

5. 31 March 2026

   Submissions close.
